Therapy with me
Hey, I’m Brianna
One way to respond to loss is to harden up and not need anybody. I used to pride myself on being a hustler, always rushing from one task to another, unable to rest. Though I was unaware at the time, my tough exterior was a brilliant way to camouflage my unmetabolized grief in this performance-driven society.
As a therapist, I witness how unresolved grief compounds & amplifies existing patterns such as withdrawing, isolating & numbing.
Releasing limiting beliefs and old attitudes allows our inner landscape to breathe more consciously. Nurturing a trusting relationship within the ritual of therapy grounds our attention toward the underlying correlates of loss.
About Me
It would be unfair to invite you into treatment as a client if I didn’t also know what it means to be a client with all its vulnerability. Coming from a background where the concept of therapy was foreign, seeking help was an initiatory process of surrendering my ego mind. What a relief it is to learn how to let go without giving up.
Outside of my work
Wisdom
Wisdom traditions such as yoga, breath practices, and meditation have been powerful companions in my own unfolding process. In support of decolonization efforts, I acknowledge the relatively recent presence of yoga and meditation in the U.S. and honor its roots in India. I am deeply grateful and pay respect to those who have come before me.
Inspiration
One of the greatest tensions I carry is the balance between safety and adventure. Travel has a way of opening my soul, pushing me beyond my comfort zones, and inviting me to face challenges that expand my perspective and humility. Yet, I also find peace in the comfort of home, where I can explore my inner world and create multiple sanctuaries to cocoon into.
Personality
In life and in session, I’m driven by honesty and curiosity. Clients often share that what sets me apart is my ability to challenge them with a nurturing authority. While I’ve softened some of my more hardened edges, my quick-witted nature, assertive attitude, and rebellious spirit still shine through, bringing a unique energy to our work together.
My Method
My rich inner life lent itself naturally to becoming a depth-oriented therapist. Depth psychology is best applied to those in midlife, when change feels urgent. We will explore the hidden parts of your waking mind through felt experience and symbolic image. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching how grief designs the exact bridge needed for generative growth.
In our work together, my aim is not to lead you toward perfection, but to reacquaint you with your purest form.
